Honda Cars India is set to launch the third-generation Honda Amaze on December 4, 2024. This new iteration of the compact sedan introduces several enhancements in design, features, and performance.
Design and Exterior
The upcoming Amaze showcases a bold transformation with a more aggressive stance, featuring a muscular bonnet and prominent creases. A redesigned hexagonal grille with a honeycomb pattern and a wide chrome bar enhances its dynamic presence.
Interior and Features
Inside, the Amaze is expected to offer a revamped dashboard layout with a larger, free-standing touchscreen infotainment system. Additional features may include a semi-digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, and a single-pane sunroof. Safety is prioritized with the inclusion of six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), and a rearview camera.

Powertrain
The Amaze will continue to be powered by a 1.2-liter, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine, delivering 90 PS and 110 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic. This setup is known for its smooth and refined performance, making the Amaze a competitive choice in its segment.
Pricing and Competition
The new Honda Amaze is expected to be priced starting from ₹7.50 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with models like the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Tata Tigor in the compact sedan segment.

Mahindra is set to unveil two new electric SUVs—the BE 6e and the XEV 9e—on November 26, 2024, in Chennai. These models represent the inaugural offerings under Mahindra’s new electric sub-brands, BE and XEV, respectively.
Mahindra BE 6e
The BE 6e is a compact electric SUV built on Mahindra’s INGLO platform, designed specifically for electric vehicles. It measures 4,370mm in length, 1,900mm in width, and 1,653mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,775mm. The SUV features a coupe-style roofline, integrated roof spoiler, and aerodynamic elements like an Aero Bridge on the bonnet and air curtains on the bumper. Inside, it offers a dual-display setup integrated into a single unit, a unique steering design, and sustainable upholstery materials. While specific battery specifications are yet to be disclosed, the INGLO platform supports battery capacities ranging from 60kWh to 80kWh, with fast-charging capabilities that can charge the battery to 80% in approximately 30 minutes.
Mahindra XEV 9e
The XEV 9e is a larger electric SUV, also based on the INGLO platform. It features a coupe-like sloping roofline and a panoramic sky roof. The front fascia is highlighted by vertically stacked DRLs connected by a sleek horizontal strip, while the rear showcases sleek LED taillights running across the boot lid. Safety features are anticipated to include multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The INGLO platform’s flexibility suggests that the XEV 9e may offer battery capacities between 60kWh and 80kWh, with power output ranging from 170kW to 290kW, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in under six seconds.
Mahindra XUV 3XO EV
Mahindra is preparing to launch the XUV 3XO EV, an electric variant of its compact SUV, the XUV 3XO. This model is expected to debut in early 2025, expanding Mahindra’s electric vehicle lineup.
The XUV 3XO EV is anticipated to retain the overall design of its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart, with specific modifications to distinguish it as an electric vehicle. These changes may include a blanked-off grille, copper-colored badging, and a unique alloy wheel design. The interior is expected to mirror the ICE version, featuring a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen.
Powertrain and Performance
While official specifications are pending, the XUV 3XO EV is likely to be equipped with a 35kWh battery pack, smaller than the 40kWh battery in the larger XUV400 EV. This setup suggests a focus on urban commuting with a balance between performance and efficiency.
Pricing and Availability
The XUV 3XO EV is expected to be priced between ₹15 lakh and ₹18 lakh, positioning it competitively in the compact electric SUV segment. This pricing strategy aims to attract a broad range of consumers seeking an affordable electric vehicle option
