Ola Electric plans to launch its Gen 3 line of electric scooters today.
This platform was first hinted to by the firm in the middle of last year.
Ola Electric, founded by Bhavish Aggarwal, is an Indian electric mobility company focused on transforming transportation. Headquartered in Bengaluru, it develops, manufactures, and sells electric scooters, striving for sustainable, efficient, and affordable mobility solutions. Ola Electric invests in cutting-edge research, battery technology, and infrastructure, aiming to drive global EV adoption.
Electric vehicles (EVs) have become vital in tackling the urgent environmental challenges we face today. By replacing polluting combustion engines with clean, battery-driven systems, EVs reduce carbon emissions and help slow climate change. Their zero-exhaust approach also improves air quality, benefiting public health and ecosystems.
Furthermore, the transition to electric mobility reduces our dependence on finite fossil fuels, strengthening energy security. Advancements in technology, supportive policies, and public awareness are driving down costs, making EVs more accessible worldwide. Ultimately, their adoption is crucial for preserving our planet and ensuring a clean, sustainable future for generations to come. They symbolize hope.

Although not much is known about this new generation of Ola e-scooters yet, it is thought to be lighter, more sophisticated, and far more efficient than the models that are currently on the market. To combine the motor, battery, and electronics into a single unit, the company seems to have improved the battery structure. It will be intriguing to see if the aluminium frame seen in the teaser image appears in the final version. The Gen 3 battery will behave like a stressed member if it does.
According to Ola, the Gen 3 platform will only have one CPU instead of the ten in Gen 1 and four in Gen 2. By employing the updated architecture, this will further reduce the complexity of the wire configuration.
